The Human Protein Atlas Web site
The Pathology Atlas contains mRNA and protein expression data from 17
different forms of human cancer. Correlation analyses based on mRNA
expression levels of human genes in cancer tissue and the clinical
outcome for almost 8000 cancer patients is presented in a gene-centric
manner, and includes more than 18000 Kaplan-Meier plots with high
significance (p<0.001). In addition, immunohistochemistry (IHC)
analysis using a tissue microarray (TMA)-based analysis of the
corresponding proteins in patients with the respective cancer types is
presented for a majority of the protein-coding genes, constituting
altogether more than 5 million IHC cancer tissue images. All
transcriptomics data has been retrieved from the Cancer Genome Atlas and
all proteomics data has been generated in-house using the same
antibodies as in protein expression profiling in normal human tissues.
